MEPhI Takes Part in the First French-Russian University Youth Forum

A team of MEPhI employees led by coordinator Vyacheslav Romanychev and curators Yaroslav Sadovsky, Ekaterina Bogdanova and Alexander Khromov take part in the First French-Russian University Youth Forum (FRU), which opened on November 25, 2021.

The First French-Russian University Youth Forum is devoted to issues on sustainable development and goes by the main theme “Environment, Climate and Global Changes”. For three months, Russian and French FRU students, who have previously passed a competitive selection, will work in groups on projects dedicated to the United Nations about sustainable development goals. In total, 5 French-Russian student groups have been formed, in each of which has 10 representatives of two countries.

The MEPhI Working Group led by the FRU coordinator Viacheslav Romanychev and curators - Yaroslav Sadovsky, Ekaterina Bogdanova and Alexander Khromov, is developing a concept for achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 7 "Affordable and Clean Energy".

During the implementation of the project, an in-depth analysis of different types of energy generation will be carried out in all aspects, including finance, R&D, technical and engineering parameters, political factor, cultural and psychological factor, to substantiate the forecast of SDG 7 implementation. The project results will be presented during the internal stage of the First French-Russian University Youth Forum, which will be held in March 2022 in Moscow.

The French-Russian University has been established as a Consortium consisting of the leading Russian and French universities, the purpose of which is to ensure the development of human resources for the advancement of science and technology, and to boost national innovations and competitive potentials of both partner countries.

The FRU members are National Research Nuclear University MEPhI, Aix-Marseille University, Université Grenoble Alpes,  EDHEC Business School, National Research University ITMO (ITMO University), NEOMA Business School, Université Côte d’Azur (UCA), The Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (RUDN University), Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration under the President of the Russian Federation (RANEPA), Russian Foreign Trade Academy Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation (RFTA), SKEMA Business School.
