MEPhI is one of the leaders of the university efficiency monitoring

Recently the ranking of university efficiency was published. The ranking was prepared based on 1-Monitoring 2020 data from the National Fund for Support of Innovation in Education (Yoshkar-Ola, Russia).  In total, 1210 educational organizations were ranked (683 head universities and 527 branches).

In the rating, six indicators assess educational, research, international, financial, and economic activities, the level of wages, and an additional indicator that takes into account the reduced number of teaching staff with academic degrees.

The group of four leading universities was headed by MIPT, MEPhI, TSU, and RUDN, which scored the maximum number of points (30).

Based on the university indicators, the two rankings of rectors were created: for universities located in  Moscow and St. Petersburg and for universities in other regions of Russia.

Indicators included the average score of Unified State Examination, the share of masters and graduate students in the total number of students, the share of foreign students, the growth rate of income from R&D per 1 academic staff, the number of publications, and citations in WoS and Scopus.

Among the rectors of universities in Moscow and St. Petersburg, the first place was taken by the rector of MEPhI Mikhail Strikhanov, the second place - by the rector of ITMO Vladimir Vasiliev, the third place - by the rector of MISIS Alevtina Chernikova. The second group was led by the rector of MIPT Nikolai Kudryavtsev and rector of NSU Mikhail Fedoruk.
