The RUR Rankings agency, together with the company Clarivate Analytics and information support of MIA Rossiya Segodnya, have published the results of a study for 2021. This year, 867 universities of the world took part in the project, including 95 universities in Russia.
For the first time, MEPhI took the 101st place among the best universities in the world, having improved its position in the ranking by 20 places over the year. MEPhI is on the 2nd place among all Russian universities after Moscow State University. M.V. Lomonosov (91st place).
In terms of the quality of education, MEPhI is on 77th place in the world. In terms of the quality of research, MEPhI took 1st place among all Russian universities.
An essential advantage of the RUR rating is its stability: the methodology has remained practically unchanged for 10 years, which makes it possible to assess the university development. Moreover, it is based on the independent and internationally recognized data sources of the Clarivate Analytics company, said Mikhail Strikhanov, rector of MEPhI.
The analysis shows that Russian universities have increased their competitiveness, significantly improving their positions in the world. For example, for ten years of participation in this rating MEPhI has improved its position from 475 to 101 in the world. In many respects, these results were achieved thanks to participation in Project 5-100 — within the framework of that project the university carried out a significant transformation its scientific, educational, international and management activities. It should be noted that MEPhI is included in the top 100 best universities in the world in terms of the quality of education, commented the results of the ranking Mikhail Strikhanov, rector of MEPhI.
