On 9 March, the magazine Times Higher Education has published the results of THE Emerging Economies University Rankings 2021, which covers the universities of the BRICS countries and countries with emerging economies.

The National Research Nuclear University MEPhI entered the top-30 universities in THE Emerging Economies University 2021 and took 4th place among all Russian universities. In that ranking, twelve Russian universities entered top-100.

In total, the ranking includes 600 universities from 48 countries, including countries such as China, Russia, India, Czech Republic, South Africa, Mexico, Turkey, etc. THE Emerging Economies is based on data from THE World University Ranking. The ranking uses 13 performance indicators that are grouped into five areas: Teaching (the learning environment); Research (volume, income and reputation); Citations (research influence); International outlook (staff, students and research); and Industry income (knowledge transfer).
