On 16 February, MEPhI held graduated ceremony online — 74 students from Turkey, Vietnam, Mongolia and Bangladesh received diplomas of higher education. Eight students graduated with honors. Due to restrictions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, the ceremony was held via videoconference.

The ceremony was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey in Russia Mehmet Samsar, the General Director of the Nuclear Power and International Projects Directorate of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Turkey Ibrahim Halil Dere, the Director of Educational Programs of the Human Resources Department of Rosatom State Corporation Valery Karezin, the HR Director of AKKUYU NUCLEAR JSC Andrey Pavlyuk, as well as graduates from Turkey, Mongolia, Vietnam and Bangladesh and MEPhI employees.

On the behalf of international graduates, qualified specialists thanked their teachers and fellow students. For example, one of the graduates Hande Nur Yakar told us about her student life: "I came to Russia in 2014 and at once began to learn the Russian language at the pre-university courses in Obninsk. There I studied for 1 year, then moved to Moscow. In the Moscow campus of MEPhI, I have trained as a specialist for 5.5 years. Classes at the university were conducted by experienced lecturers, and practical and laboratory exercises made it possible to develop ourselves professionally. I have best remembered the practice in Volgodonsk, where we have learned much useful information on the main equipment of nuclear power plants; moreover, I got to see the process of such equipment production at the "Atommash" factory. It was a very useful experience for me. I am thankful to have got such good education at the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI. During this time in Russia, I have accumulated a lot of unforgettable impressions. Now I come back to Turkey to work as a specialist at Akkuyu NPP. I would very like to keep in touch with MEPhI and  Russia which became my second home country. Many thanks to our university for everything!"
