The British agency Times Higher Education has published the Most international universities in the world 2021 ranking.

National Research Nuclear University MEPhI took 118th place in the world and third among all Russian universities.

The ranking takes into account four components: a university’s proportions of international students, international staff, journal publications with at least one international co-author, university’s international reputation.

In many ways, the university achieved this result thanks to the participation in Project 5-100. Since 2013, MEPhI has carried out a significant transformation of scientific, educational, international, and management activities, which has made it possible to transform from a narrowly focused, industrial university into a competitive global university. Today more than 25% of international students study at MEPhI and a large number of foreign teaching staff work here. MEPhI develops important research areas: new generation nuclear energy technologies, intelligent systems and cybersecurity, applied accelerator technologies, nanoscale and nuclear medical technologies, radio-photonic and laser technologies, etc. At the same time, MEPhI pays attention to the development of international relations, including participation in international scientific collaborations, which, of course, has a positive effect on its international reputation.
