MEPhI students became prizewinners of International Engineering Championship CASE-IN

On September 10-11, the final of the International Engineering Championship CASE-IN - one of the projects of the presidential platform "Russia - the Land of Opportunities” took place. More than 500 students from 133 teams compete for the title of the best engineering team.

In Digital Atom direction, the third place was awarded to the SkillUP team that consists of students from the MEPhI Ozersk Technological Institute —Evgeny Semin (captain), Pavel Voischev, Alexander Minaev, Vladislav Mikhalev. The team curator is an Associate Professor of the Department of Applied Mathematics of the OTI NRNU MEPhI Alexander Zubairov. The strategic partner was the State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom. 

This year, the final of the CASE-IN Championship was held in a mixed format - online and offline.

Participants defended their cases remotely. At that time, speakers and moderators were at the competition site in Moscow. On the first day, students took part in engineering cases, on the second one - in meetings with employers, master classes, and summing up the results. 

In 2020, within the framework of the Energy of Education award, the CASE-IN organizing committee established a special nomination Digital Adaptation

Thus, the committee noted the effectiveness of transferring the championship qualifying stages to the online format. The award was given to eight higher educational institutions, including MEPhI.

International Engineering Championship CASE-IN is an international competition system for solving engineering cases among students, schoolchildren, and young professionals. The goal of the Championship is to popularize the engineering and technical education and attract the most promising young specialists to the fuel, energy, and mineral resources sectors.

The championship is one of the projects of ANO Russia — the country of opportunities. The championship is held in Russia and the CIS countries’ universities.
