Qualifying stage of CASE-IN Championship was held at MEPhI

On April 16, the qualifying stage of the CASE-IN Championship on the track “Digital Atom” was held at MEPhI. The competition was held online.  The strategic partner of this area was the State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom. Eight teams competed, the participants of which are studying on engineering and digital specialties. Students from Russia and the CIS countries’ universities solved engineering cases on topical issues of fuel, energy, and mineral resource complexes.

According to the decision of the expert commission, the SkillUP students’ team from the Ozersk Technological Institute of MEPhI reached the final. The team includes Evgeny Semin (captain), Pavel Voyschev, Alexander Minaev, Vladislav Mikhalev.

The second place was taken by the team “Descendants of Albert Einstein” consisting of undergraduates of the Higher Engineering School of MEPhI — Denis Ryazanov (captain), Sergey Simonov, Polina Zavalenova and Victor Vinokurov.

The third place was taken by the team “Fifty Shades of Code” consisting of students of the Ozersk Technological Institute of MEPhI — Balyas Vasily (captain), Kardashin Alexey, Matveyev Alexey, Tsymbalyuk Bogdan.

In the near future, the MEPhI team and finalists from other universities in Russia and the CIS will meet in the final of the CASE-IN Championship in Moscow to compete for the title of the strongest student engineering team.

Prizewinners and winners will receive valuable prizes from the organizers and partner companies of the Championship, internships and practices in leading industry companies, participation in summer forums. They will have also the opportunity to apply on concessional basis to master's and postgraduate courses of partner universities of the CASE-IN Championship.
