Open Doors: Russian Scholarship Project – the registration is open

On October 5, 2019 Open Doors: Russian Scholarship Project  opened the  registration  for the participants of the Olympiad. The Open Doors Olympiad is an international project that provides participants with an opportunity to enroll in a tuition-free Master's program at one of the leading universities in Russia.

The Olympiad is organized by the Association of Global Universities in collaboration with the Ministry Higher Education and Science of the Russian Federation and the Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States Affairs, Compatriots Living Abroad, and International Humanitarian Cooperation (Rossotrudnichestvo).

More than 35,000 participants from 162 countries took part in the Olympiad in 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 and over 400 winners and prize-winners got free early admissions to the best Russian universities bypassing the entrance examinations and tuition fees, which are covered by the Russian Federation.

The Olympiad is held for foreign citizens, stateless persons and compatriots living abroad.  Potential participants must either hold a Bachelor’s degree, or graduate with one by 2020. All rounds of the Olympiad are held in a distance-learning format. The languages of the Olympiad are Russian and English, just like the languages of available Master’s programs.

400 winners and prize-winners of the Olympiad organized in 2019-2020, will be eligible for tuition-free enrollment in one of the Master’s programs, which covered y the 11 subject areas of the Olympiad:

  • Business & Management
  • Biology
  • Engineering & Technology
  • Computer and Data Science
  • Linguistics & Modern Languages
  • Mathematics & Artificial intelligence
  • Psychology
  • Politics & International Studies
  • Physics
  • Chemistry
  • Economics

Furthermore, winners and prize-winners may receive additional privileges and benefits that the organizers of the Olympiad may decide to bestow upon them. 

The Olympiad is held in two rounds:

The 1st round (October 5 – December 18, 2019) is a portfolio competition
The 2nd round (January 15 – 30, 2020) is a task completion
The results will be announced on February 20, 2020.

In 2019-2020, National Research Nuclear University MEPhI coordinates the Olympiad in the subject areas of PHYSICS and ENGINEERING & TECHNOLOGY. The winners and prize-winners that choose to pursue Master’s studies at MEPhI can enroll at the majors in accordance with the chosen subject area. In 2019-2020, 6 winners and prize-winners of the Olympiad received admission to MEPhI’s Master’s programs under PHYSICS and MATHEMATICS subject areas.
