MEPhI in top three universities of Russia and fourth in IT according to rating agency RAEX/Expert RA in 2019

The official presentation of the rating "100 best universities of Russia" by the RAEX rating agency/Expert RA has taken place on June, 5.

The National Research Nuclear University MEPhI has taken the third place! The activities of universities were evaluated in three main areas: conditions for quality education, level of research activities, level of demand for graduates by employers.

For the first time the rating of universities in the field of information technologies was presented. MEPhI was ranked the 4th among Russian universities!

In addition, Pre-University of MEPhI took the 4th position in the ranking of the best schools in Russia in the field of information technologies! This direction is one of the strategic priorities of Russia. In the coming years, a large-scale program for the development of the economy of a new technological direction - the program of the digital economy, will be implemented.

The results of the rating were discussed at the VII annual forum of universities "Global competitiveness", which included a plenary discussion "Sustainable development of universities in the era of new challenges", as well as two sections: "Youth and universities: new challenges and mutual influence" and "University rankings as an integral element of universities competition". Kireev S.V., Director of the monitoring and rating research center, Professor of MEPhI, made a report on "The impact of ratings on the competitiveness of universities" at the forum.

The universities’ forum "Global competitiveness" included an award ceremony on the results of the eighth ranking of the best universities in Russia. The National Research Nuclear University MEPhI was awarded in the nomination "High level of research activities".

Rating agency RAEX annually has presented ranking of the 100 best universities in Russia from 2012, starting with 2014 has also published rankings of universities according to the integrated directions.

The activities of universities are evaluated in three main areas: conditions for quality education, level of research activities, level of demand for graduates by employers. The assessment is based on the analysis of statistical indicators and the results of online surveys of the following target groups: students and graduates, representatives of academic and scientific communities, representatives of employers. As statistical information, the survey data of universities, scientometric indicators and information from open sources are used.
