06.05.2019

A meeting of the first Deputy Minister of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan, General Director of Agency on Development of Atomic Energy under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan Zh.T. Mirzamahmudov and the rector of the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI M.N. Strikhanov has been held in Moscow.

After a working meeting with representatives of MEPhI, Zhurabek Tursunpulatovich and Mikhail Nikolaevich met with the students of MEPhI from Uzbekistan.

Opening the meeting, the head of Uzatom said: "You are all under our close attention, you are our future staff and, of course, very big responsibility rests on you. Now your main goal is to study well and worthily. The state can build a station, can attract technology, but it will be useless without personnel."

During an interactive conversation with the management of the agency and the University, students asked all their questions. Particular attention was paid to the current performance, problems in this area and decisions which are being taken to correct them. Separately, future nuclear workers were interested in the issue of practical training and further employment. But since all modern plants are complex, high-tech facilities, the future nuclear power plant in the Navoi region will require specialists in various fields.

It is worth noting that the meeting was held in a very open and lively manner and eventually turned out to be very fruitful.
