Three All-Russian Student Olympiads hold in MEPhI

MEPhI has summed up the results of three All-Russian Student Olympiads in the following areas: “Automatics, electronics and nanostructured electronics”, "Engineering and physical technologies of biomedicine" and "Information security".

Opening the ceremony of awarding the winners of Olympiads, the head of the joint organizing committee of MEPhI Olympiads A.M. Maslennikov noted the growing interest of students in these thematic areas. This year, 325 students from 60 universities took part in three All-Russian Student Olympiads. Welcoming the participants of the Olympiad, the state secretary of JSC "Roselectronics" A.V. Brykin wished them to effectively develop further, find their way in life and apply skills in specific jobs.

A professor at the Czech Technical University in Prague and Institute of Engineering Physics for Biomedicine, the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI Anton Fojtik stressed the importance of the Olympiad on engineering and physical technologies of biomedicine. "This Olympiad is important because it gives you the opportunity to demonstrate and improve your level of knowledge in this direction," the professor addressed the students.

The President of the Association for information security, Chairman of Regional Academic Methodological Association of Higher Education in the field of information security in the Central Federal district V.P. Los expressed a great need for specialists in information security: "The Olympiad, which is being held not the first year in the MEPhI, contributes to the high quality of training of such specialists."

The winners and prize-winners were also congratulated by the representatives of MEPhI institutes and leading employers.

The solemn atmosphere of the event was set by the musical numbers of the vocal studio Quanto di Stella.

Winners and prize-winners were decided following the best performance of competitive tasks in personal and team tests. MEPhI allows the winners and prize-winners to enroll in master degree programs without entrance exams, and laureats of the Olympiad receive benefits. In accordance with the jury’s decision, the prizes were distributed as follows:

All-Russian Student Olympiad in automatics, electronics and nanostructured electronics:

The winner of the Olympiad – Robert Gaptrahmanov, MEPhI;

Diploma of the 2nd degree – Anastasia Gracheva, MEPhI;

Diploma of the 3rd degree – Nikita Bogdanov, Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University.

All-Russian Student Olympiad in engineering and physical technologies of biomedicine:

The winner of the Olympad – Nicholay Pokryshkin, Vladimir State University named after Alexander Grigorievich and Nikolay Grigorievich Stoletov;

Diploma of the 2nd degree – Maxim Zaigraev, Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology;

Diploma of the 3rd degree – Sergey Korablev, Ivanovo Power Engineering Institute.

All-Russian Student Olympiad on information security:

The winner of the Olympiad – Alexander Burakov, Academy of the Federal Protective Service of the Russian Federation;

Diploma of the 2nd degree – Ilya Latyshev, Academy of the Federal Protective Service of the Russian Federation;

The diploma of 3-degree – Anna Kovaleva, MEPhI.

 

In the team competition, the winners lined up in the following order (by the sum of the points of the three best participants from the University):

All-Russian student Olympiad in automatics, electronics and nanostructured electronics:

1 place – MEPhI team;

2nd place – St. Petersburg Electrotechnical University ETU "LETI" team;

3 place – Bauman Moscow State Technical University team.

All-Russian Student Olympiad in engineering and physical technologies of biomedicine:

1st place – team of Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology;

2 place – MEPhI team;

3rd place – team of Ivanovo Power Engineering Institute.

All-Russian Student Olympiad on information security:

1st place – team of Academy of the Federal Protective Service of the Russian Federation;

2 place – MEPhI team;

3rd place – team of HSE Tikhonov Moscow Institute of Electronics and Mathematics.

30 foreign participants from 9 countries also took part in the Olympiads: Bangladesh, Bolivia, Vietnam, Egypt, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Syria, Turkey, Ukraine. This year Samman Abdulkader Hassan (Bauman Moscow State Technical University, Syria) has won the competition in automatics, electronics and nanostructured electronics in the category "Best foreign participant". In the Olympiad on engineering and physical technologies of biomedicine the best was the 1st year student of the master's degree of MEPhI from Kazakhstan Zarina Serikbekova: "I’ve participated in the Olympiad for the first time. I opened the demo version and decided to try my hand. I advise everyone to participate, be sure to prepare and count on time for each task."

Unlike Zarina, the student of MEPhI Nikita Tachkin became the winner of the All-Russian Student Olympiad in automatics, electronics and nanostructured electronics for the second time in a row: "I had difficulties with the section of nanostructured electronics. It still remains an "impregnable fortress". I think we should just better prepare and read the recommended literature."
