MEPhI has taken the 157th place among more than eight hundred participants of the RUR international rating, significantly improving its performance compared to last year (in 2018 the University was ranked the 224th). This is the best position among the universities of the Project 5-100 and the second among all Russian universities.

It is important to note that for the first time MEPhI has entered into the top 100 of best universities in the world in terms of the quality of education.

The presentation of the Russian version of the rating was held on April 17 at the MIA "Rossiya segodnya". At the press conference, the first vice-rector of MEPhI O.V. Nagornov commented on the results of the rating:

– We see a significant progress of universities that participate in the Academic Excellence Project "5-100" in this ranking. Indeed, this group of universities managed to transform the educational process in a short time, to rebuild the management system, to determine the points of growth, connecting both online education and VR laboratories. Thanks to the emphasis on interdisciplinary research, significant progress has been made in the scientific agenda. These universities are also successful because they are developing together with their industrial partners. MEPhI is actively working with Rosatom and this allows us to advance at the international market: we have 17 branches in the Russian Federation and now we are opening a branch abroad, in the Republic of Uzbekistan, where nuclear power plants will be built.

Round University Ranking is published in partnership with the Clarivate Analytics since 2010. In total, during the existence of the rating 1100 universities took part in it. In 2019, the list includes universities from 85 countries. They were evaluated by 20 indicators, including the reputation of the University in the academic community, bibliometric and statistical data.
