Scientific and practical conference "Era of cryptoeconomics: new challenges and RegTech in AML/CFT" successfully held in Moscow


From 12 to 14 November, Moscow has hosted the IV scientific and practical conference "Era of cryptoeconomics: new challenges and RegTech in AML/CFT".

The conference was organized by the Federal Financial Monitoring Service, International Training and Methodology Center Financial Monitoring (ITMCFM), P.N. Lebedev Physical Institute of RAS and the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI.

Traditionally, MEPhI took an active part in the organization and holding of the conference; MEPhI rector M.N. Strikhanov became the co-chairman of the conference organizing committee.

At the opening of the conference the participants were addressed by the Director of Rosfinmonitoring Yu.A. Chikhanchin, assistant to the President of the Russian Federation A.A. Seryshev, the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation M.M. Kotyukov, Chairman of the Committee at the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation on budget and financial markets S.N. Ryabukhin, Deputy Chairman of financial market committee of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation I.B. Divinsky, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, member of Presidium of RAS G.A. Mesyats, rector of MEPhI M.N. Strikhanov.

The work was continued at the meeting of the International Network AML/CFT Institute and scientific sections. Participants discussed emerging issues and recent trends in the fight against money-laundering and the financing of terrorism.

On November 13, the thematic sections were actively working, the student forum "Digital economy in the context of national security" was held. The forum included three sections:

  • Digital financial assets: the risks in AML/CFT, moderators: Professor at MEPhI and Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, candidate of law, doctor of physical and mathematical scinces G.O. Krylov, associate professor of MEPhI, candidate of technical sciences D.S. Silnov;
  • System compliance - the mechanism of AML/CFT, moderator: Associate professor of MEPhI, candidate of economics P.Y. Leonov;
  • Corporate economic security, moderator: Professor of MEPhI, doctor of economics I.P. Komissarova and Professor of MEPhI, doctor of economics V.G. Kogdenko.

The scientific and practical seminar "Anti-corruption as a factor of stable economic development", held within the walls of MEPhI, brought together representatives of public authorities, state corporations, business and financial institutions. The most important issues of combating corruption were raised, and a productive exchange of views took place.

Traditionally, the conference included student sports competitions, which were attended by the teams of MEPhI, MFUA and the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation. The awards were presented by Deputy Director of Federal Financial Monitoring Service V.I. Glotov.

On the final day there was an exchange of views on the results of the conference, during which Russian participants and foreign guests noted the high level of the conference and expressed confidence in new meetings of the traditional forum.
