On November 1, 2018 Open Doors: Russian Scholarship Project has opened registration for the participants. The Open Doors Academic Competition is an international project that grants you an opportunity to enroll in a tuition-free Master's program at one of the leading universities in Russia.

The competition is organized by the Association of Global Universities in collaboration with the Ministry Higher Education and Science of the Russian Federation and the Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States Affairs, Compatriots Living Abroad, and International Humanitarian Cooperation (Rossotrudnichestvo).

The award winners of Open Doors are granted free early admission at any Russian university, without entrance examinations and with tuition fees covered by the Russian Federation. The language of instruction is English or Russian depending on the chosen Master's program and the university.

More than 8.5 thousand people from 160 countries took part in the Open Doors in 2017-2018 academic year, and 94 participants from 31 countries became the award winners.

In 2018-2019 academic year the competition will be held in 10 subject areas, including Biology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Business and Management, Political Science, Psychology, Physics, Philology and Linguistics, Chemistry, Economics.

The competition is held online in Russian and English in two rounds: a portfolio competition (Nov. 1, 2018 – Jan. 31, 2019) followed by a problem-solving round (Feb. 18 – March 7, 2019). The results will be announced on March 25, 2019.

In 2018/2019 academic year MEPhI coordinates the academic competition in PHYSICS, and also co-organizes the competitions in BIOLOGY, COMPUTER SCIENСE and MATHEMATICS. The Award Winners who decide to pursue Master’s studies at MEPhI can get enrollment in the majors in accordance with the chosen subject area

The Organizing Committee of Open Doors: Russian Scholarship Project in 2018-2019 includes 16 leading Russian universities – members of the Association of Global Universities: National Research Nuclear University "MEPhI", National University of Science and Technology "MISIS", Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, Ural Federal University, Saint Petersburg State Electrotechnical University "LETI", Peter the Great Saint-Petersburg Polytechnic University, Russian Peoples’ Friendship University, National Research Tomsk Polytechnic University, National Research Tomsk State University, National Research University "Higher School of Economics", ITMO University, First Moscow State medical University named after I.M. Sechenov, Tyumen State University, Baltic Federal University, Novosibirsk National Research State University, Far Eastern Federal University.
