Autodesk and MEPhI sign cooperation agreement
09.10.2018

At the Autodesk University conference, a cooperation agreement has been signed between MEPhI and Autodesk, a leader in 3D design, engineering and entertainment software.

Autodesk University conference is the main event of the year for everyone who actively creates the world around us.

The agreement was signed by the vice-rector of MEPhI Elena Borisovna Vesna and the General Director of the Autodesk (CIS) Anastasia Sergeevna Morozova, who came on the stage in front of thousands of audience.

The purpose of the agreement is the creation of a test range based on the Higher Engineering School of MEPhI for teaching of master degree students of HES MEPhI, and later students from other areas, how to work with the technology of information modeling of objects of capital construction (BIM-technology).

BIM-technology (Building Information Modeling) is a digital modeling in construction, a building information model. BIM allows you to create a complete information description of the object under construction. This is not just a three-dimensional image of the object, it is a single model which is used by specialists of all profiles, it is a process of collective creation and use of information about the construction, forming a reliable basis for all decisions throughout the life cycle of the object — from the earliest concepts to detailed design, construction, operation and decommissioning or demolition.

The first group of master degree students of HES MEPhI will start acquaintance with the processes of digital design in October.
