23.08.2018

MEPhI's admission campaign has come to an end, the orders for admission of bachelors, specialists, masters and postgraduates are published on the website of the Admission Comission.

In 2018, MEPhI has become the leader among Russian universities in passing score for two specialties: "Informatics and computer engineering" and "Electronics and nanoelectronics". The University entered the top three in passing scores for the specialty "Physics".

In 2018, 4027 applicants have applied to the Moscow branch of MEPhI, 1315 of them have become students of one of the leading Russian universities in the field of engineering education. The most popular area of study among Russian enrollees in the number of applications is the direction of "Nuclear physics and technology" - 746 applications.

There is a steady increase in the average score of the Unified State Exam among applicants. This year, the exam’s rates have increased again markedly: 92.3 points compared to 90.5 points last year and 89 points the year before. The average score has increased in almost all profile areas / specialties. This year, 38% of freshmen are winners and prize-winners of the Olympiads, and 40% of them have a certificate with honors.

For several years the Admission Commission of MEPhI has been providing applicants with the opportunity to fill in electronic registration forms on the website before the submission of documents. Thanks to the pre-registration and electronic queue, applicants no longer kick heels. Parents of applicants have noted the high organization of the Admission Commission of the University: "In all universities we’ve already visited, we did not know where to go and were a little confused. Here we are pleased with the sociability of students who immediately came to our aid,"– said Inna Merzlyakova, the mother of one of the applicants. The parents of applicants also told about the benefits of training in MEPhI, including the training in applied and in-demand professions, the innovative trends and presence of student dorms close to academic buildings.

The newly-made students shared their impressions of admission to MEPhI and told about their plans for the future.

Konstantin Saveliev, first year undergraduate:

- MEPhI is one of the best technical universities, which specializes in interesting for me profile "Nuclear physics and technology". First, I want to gain theoretical knowledge, and then experience working at high-tech research physical installations. In the future, I would like to speak at international conferences, as well as to participate in such scientific experiments as ATLAS. Training in Pre-university of MEPhI gave me an opportunity to gain the knowledge needed to enter the University. I'm happy!

Maria Istomina, first year undergraduate:

- After studying at the Lyceum № 1511 under MEPhI, I realized that I want to connect my future with physics. And since I am already familiar with this University, didn’t particularly wonder where to apply. There was a wonderful girl in the admission commission office who told about all directions and specialties. I was interested in applied mathematics and physics. I am happy that I’ve entered MEPhI.

Alexander Kravchenko, first-year master's degree student:

– It's not a secret that after graduation of the bachelor degree it is almost impossible to get a decent job in the specialty, so there was no doubt to enter it. In the dean's office of INPhE I was told about the possibility of obtaining two diplomas of higher education, without changing specialty a lot, and I decided to enter the double degree program "MEPhI-VAVT". Already in the process of passing the entrance exams, we got acquainted with the features of this program, which is mainly aimed at training specialists for the state corporation Rosatom with excellent knowledge of English. I believe that I’ve made the right choice, considering the economic situation in the country and the prospects of the industry.

Congratulations to all who entered, we wish you a good study, successful professional and personal development, as well as a fun and rich student life in our University!
