On July 2-13 the International Summer School on Engineering Computer modeling in nuclear technologies, which is attended by students and young professionals from 11 countries, is being held at the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI.

The summer school on engineering computer modeling in nuclear technology is a certified course focused on the numerical modeling of several physical phenomena occurring simultaneously. Attendees study modern engineering codes, and then use these programs to effectively solve various engineering problems in practice.

«The school is held for the third time, and every year the number of applications increases. Internationalization and the scientific component remain to be our priorities», said Georgy Tikhomirov, the Deputy Director of the Institute of Nuclear Physics and Engineering.

According to him, participants will be able to improve their knowledge and skills in engineering modeling, to work on a group project with colleagues from other countries. These are graduate students, undergraduates and doctoral students from the nuclear industry, as well as young specialists in the field of computer modeling of physical processes.

This year the school has united 20 representatives of 11 countries: Norway, Spain, Algeria, Turkey, Egypt, Nigeria, Kazakhstan, Greece, Poland, Bangladesh, and Russia. Among the lecturers there are scientists of the Research and Development Institute of Power Engineering named after N. A. Dollezhal, the Kurchatov Institute, the Western Norway University of Applied Sciences, and the TESIS engineering company.
