26.03.2018

Lecturers and students of INPhE MEPhI have taken part in the first Japanese-Russian forum on education and research in Tokyo.

The forum was held within the framework of the project "Training of leading scientists and engineers in the field of health care, medicine, nuclear power and energy industry between Japan and Russia", which is planned for 5 years. The purpose of the forum is to investigate the opportunities of universities and identify possible ways of cooperation.

MEPhI was represented by the Deputy Director of INPhE G.V. Tikhomirov, lecturers M.P. Panin and V.G. Zimin, postgraduate students A.D.Smirnov and E.A. Korneva, master degree students V.A. Chudinova and V.V. Trofimchuk.

The forum was also attended by students and lecturers of the Tokyo Institute of Technology (TIT) and the Lomonosov Moscow State University. They talked about their competencies, made reports on medicine and nuclear technology.

Forum participants discussed further steps in the implementation of the student exchange project between two countries, directions of internships and works for the next years.

During the forum, MEPhI students presented their scientific works at the poster session. It is worth noting that in February 2018, MEPhI had already accepted three students from Japan on a two-week internship.

The next forum will be held in September 2018 at the Moscow State University, in 2019 – at the Tokyo Institute of Technology, and in 2020 – at MEPhI, where participants will summarize the interim results and outline further prospects.
