On February 27, the Russian President Vladimir Putin has met with the Director General of State Corporation for atomic energy Rosatom Alexey Likhachev. The head of Rosatom reported to the President about the results of the state corporation's work over the past year and ways to implement the company's investment strategy in the country and abroad.

In particular, Alexey Likhachev said that the corporation is actively involved in the program of digital transformation of the Russian economy.

"We are working on the program of digital transformation of the Russian economy. We are developing four basic end-to-end technologies that are extremely important, namely quantum technology, technology of virtual augmented reality, Big Data technologies, and new industrial production reserves.

It is important to emphasize that there are a lot of digital developments in Rosatom that we use for our own purposes, including for the purposes of the nuclear weapons industry. Our job now is to turn them into products, make them attractive primarily for Russian companies. And, of course, they should certainly meet the highest requirements of the world market.”

The Director General believes that none of this work would be possible without people, so Rosatom pays special attention to the issue of training.

Our industry universities, our flagship university MEPhI train thousands of young professionals. We recruit more than 1,000 people annually – the best students, with an average GPA over 4.5.”

For the third consecutive time, the State Corporation Rosatom became the winner of the Russian WorldSkills competition of end-to-end working professions. Alexey Likhachev noted that the nearest plans the Corporation would like to held the world industry leaders meeting in Russia to discuss "the needs of the labour market, the training of personnel in a long term, so that our secondary vocational schools and higher education institutions receive a personnel training order  for the next few years directly from the leaders of the world economy, from the leaders of countries."
