On the 13-14th of December, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation is holding the fifth annual national exhibition "VUZPROMEXPO – 2017". The first Deputy Minister of education and science of the Russian Federation Valentina Pereverzeva said about the upcoming forum at a press conference in TASS.
As noted by the representative of the Ministry of education, the first task of VUZPROMEXPO is the demonstration of scientific and technological achievements of higher educational establishments and scientific organizations. "Nowadays, it is very important to be able to talk about their research, to convey information and to be heard," said Valentina Pereverzeva.
In addition, the forum is charged with the task of attracting investors to the scientific development of universities.
Thirdly, "VUZPROMEXPO" will be all-Russian communication platform which will provide a unique opportunity to meet scientists, entrepreneurs, representatives of federal and regional authorities, to discuss issues of innovative development of the country.
The Director of the Department of programs management and competitive procedures of the Ministry of education and science Mikhail Popov underlined that the exhibition will be held under the slogan "From words to deeds". It is important for the economy that education, business and government have united. In addition, the second basic idea of the exhibition is to support the children. "We provide an innovative platform where they realize their potential and innovative ambitions."
The Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Vasily Osmakov said about importance of development of cooperation between universities and large enterprises and state corporations: “For the past 5 years “VUZPROMEXPO” is the platform, which demonstrates the joint projects, the results of joint programmes. One of them is our program with the Ministry of education on the creation of engineering centers on the basis of technical universities. Today it is about 60of them”.
Vice-President of the United Aircraft Corporation, Chairman of the Board of Directors of MiG Sergey Korotkov: "Together with universities we need to develop key technologies, which will provide digitalisation: artificial intelligence, additive technologies, and cybersecurity.”
The rector of MEPhI Mikhail Strikhanov: "We have already been participating in a wonderful exhibition "VOUZPROMEXPO" for the fifth time. Its title combines three functions, which should carry a leading University – research, high quality education and industrial innovation." Mikhail Strikhanov suggested to consider the international side in the framework of the next exhibition, since the international activities and export of Russian education is among priorities of the Ministry of education and science.
The General Director of Zhukovsky Central AeroHydrodynamic Institute (TsAGI), RAS academician Sergey Chernyshev told about the 2nd the contest of innovative projects in the aerospace industry, organized by TsAGI: “This year we received 29 applications. This is more than in the past year. 40% of applications were filed by universities, a significant part – industrial companies from the aerospace industry and representatives of research institutions.”
A great attention of the two-day program of "VUZPROMEXPO-2017" will be paid to attraction of talented youth to project and research activities. Program Director of the IV all-Russian student scientific and technical festival "VUZPROMFEST" Yuri Petrovich Panov stressed that the festival is the engineering multidiscipline competition. “We tried to transfer the idea of the exhibition, which is in cooperation between University science and industry, to a model of functioning of the student team,” said Yuri Panov. The team of experts includes specialists of different directions of training (engineers, marketers, economists, industrial designers etc.) who work on one project.
Launched in 2013, the project "VUZPROMEXPO" immediately attracted the attention of the professional community. During its existence, the annual exhibition of developments of Russian research teams became a full-fledged communication platform for the development of cooperation between the scientific community, government and business. Annual events of the “VUZPROMEXPO” exhibition showed the potential of Russian science, demonstrating 7524 scientific and technical projects to more than 21,500 visitors and conducting 381 business events, organized by Russian universities, public corporations and ministries involved in the innovation process. Annually more than 100 universities in the country participate in the VUZPROMEXPO exhibition.
