Program INMA MEPhI presented at IAEA General Conference

On September, 15 in Vienna, Austria, within the framework of the 61st General conference of the IAEA there has held a presentation of the International Nuclear Management Academy under the IAEA (INMA), which MEPhI entered in 2015.

The purpose of the International Academy is the creation and implementation of a complete master's program in management of nuclear technology in IAEA standards, development of unified requirements for master programmes with a focus on modern aspects of management in the field of nuclear technology, science and technology in cooperation with other members of the Academy. INMA seeks to promote cooperation between universities in developing of joint programmes, this contributes to the mutual use of educational resources, materials and tools.

Professor of the Department №5 MEPhI A.N. Kosilov, representing the university's initiatives in this area, said that MEPhI has developed and launched a master program in management of nuclear technology in September 2016. Moreover, at the end of that year, he presented the program to the IAEA mission, which positively assessed the program and accredited it as a program of the INMA, appropriate to the IAEA requirements.

To date, two universities provide training in the IAEA-accredited program in nuclear technologies management - the University of Manchester and MEPhI.

A number of universities such as the University of Tokyo (Japan), Texas A&M University (TAMU), (USA); the North-West University and the University of the Witwatersrand (South Africa), Tsinghua University and Harbin Engineering University (China), State Engineering University of Armenia, Khalifa University (UAE) and some others are planning to become members of the INMA in the near future.
