On April, 18 MEPhI has held a meeting of schoolchildren with excellent marks – the best pupils from the partner schools of the university, as well as winners of the Olympiads for schoolchildren conducted by MEPhI. About 200 schoolchildren from 17 schools took part in the event. Young talents met with the university administration and representatives of the Admission Campaign and Institutes/faculties. Future applicants were offered a wide range of special offers for outstanding graduates of the specialised classes of MEPhI: from individual navigation during the admission campaign to increased scholarships from 1 semester.
The vice-rector of MEPhI Elena Borisovna Vesna told that a unique training system based on the principle of "student-centeredness" was created at the university. The system assumes the modularity of mastering the educational program, the flexibility of the educational trajectory formed by the student in conjunction with the tutor (the formation of the curriculum from the proposed set of modules), as well as the possibility of changing the direction of training (specialty) during the first two years of general vocational training. Elena Borisovna noted that the university is implementing educational programs that have passed international certification in FEANI. "This means that any university in the world will recognize your intermediate results, and on the basis of your studies you will receive diplomas of the international standard," the vice-rector of MEPhI said. Another important for students issue is the possibility of internships and even entire educational modules abroad; the university signed contracts with more than 45 foreign universities and research centers to ensure students' mobility.
At the end of the meeting, the heads of institutes / faculties told the applicants about the peculiarities of each Institute / Faculty, about the unique advantages of studying at MEPhI, and also answered the questions of schoolchildren.
The event continued in the university's classrooms, where everyone could communicate directly with the leadership of the institutions. Schoolchildren with excellent grades attended workshops and excursions to MEPhI's scientific laboratories.
For schoolchildren from the regions a contest of excellent students was held on April, 21 in the form of a webinar. The guys got acquainted with the proposals of the university with great interest, asked questions to the management of institutes / faculties. The webinar was attended by 80 graduates – prospective students of MEPhI.
