On March, 25 MEPhI has held an Open doors day for senior schoolchildren, students of specialized colleges and those who plan to combine studies with their work.
The Dean of the faculty B.F. Anufriev told future enrollees about the history of MEPhI, in particular, about the Evening faculty, which was organized in January, 1949 to train employees of laboratories for the Academy of Sciences of the USSR in the field of latest equipment, which celebrates 68th anniversary today.
At the moment the faculty trains students in 5 Bachelor degree programs and 1 specialisation. For the time of studying students get fundamental physical-mathematical training, specialize in the field of latest developments of experimental physics, as well as get computer and general engineering knowledge, study a wide range of economical disciplines. “The duration of studying for people who have secondary education and enroll at Bachelor degree programs is 4,5-5 years, and graduates of colleges have an accelerated form of training, which is 3,5 years,” said Boris Anufriev. According to him, among the graduates of the evening faculty there are Doctors of Science and PhDs, Heads of enterprises and large scientific institutions, leading employees of academic institutes, laureates of prestigious contests and awards.
At the event speeches were also given by representatives of educational divisions, who told about main educational programs and career of graduates. The knowledge and practical skills, obtained during education, provide for gradates’ jobs at enterprises and institutions of a wide range of specialization, also in commercial and business sectors. Among the strategic partners of MEPhI evening faculty there are enterprises and organizations of the Rosatom state corporation, defense industry, space sector, Russian Academy of Sciences.
Participants of the Open Door Day asked questions to the admission campaign secretary and other university representatives, visited scientific and research laboratories of MEPhI departments.
It should be reminded that on April, 2nd there will be MEPhI Open Door Day.
