The Head of ICIS S.Yu.Misyurin told enrollees about main tasks and scientific-technical directions, among which there are artificial intelligence and robotics, mathematical modelling, informational security of automated systems.
At the moment the Institute realizes 17 educational programs, among which there are 7 Bachelor degree programs, 7 Master’s degree programs and 3 PhD programs. As Sergey Yurievich said, ICIS trains specialists, able to create hybrid intellectual decision-support systems, develop applied program complexes for calculation experiments and cryptography means of information protection. In connection with cases and scale of computer attacks at different structures, which have lately become frequent, 4 of the above-mentioned programs (1 Bachelor degree and 3 Master’s degree programs) refer to a relevant direction of training today, “Information security”, which also includes cybersafety.
Students are taught to develop new approaches in the field of protected open information technologies.
University graduates are in high demand in banking and IT-spheres, at industrial enterprises, and in commercial organisations. For example, ICIS cooperates with Gazprom, Sberbank, RZD, concern “Radioelectronic technologies”. Among foreign partners of the Institute there are leading organisations and universities of the USA, Spain, France, Italy. For example, more than 10 international conferences were conducted under the aegis of IEEE, ACM.
Deputy Head of the Institute of financial and economic security A.N.Norkina also made a speech in front of the schoolchildren. According to her, MEPhI is the first and only in the world higher education institution on personnel training for solution of tasks of financial monitoring, which has for ten years conducted research in the interests of the national system of anti-money laundering and terrorism financing.
Employees and PhD students of the Institute make reports at international conferences, participate in European summer schools. Interdisciplinary education allows graduates of IFES easily adapt to the labor market and in the business environment. Graduates of Institute of financial and economic security successfully work in government agencies, insurance companies, the banking sector, investment funds and others.
"MEPhI provides not only a good education at a high level according to international standards, but also develops the creative side of personality. Sports clubs, musical and dance groups, everyone will find something," summed up Anna Nikolaevna.
The deputy chief of the military department, Colonel S.I. Mezhuev explained the conditions of entry into the military department. Executive Secretary of the admission campaign V.I. Skritniy told about the rules of admission and enrollment in 2017.
After the official part in the informal atmosphere the visitors could learn more details about the educational and scientific activities of the Institute, to ask questions to their representatives and leading scientists of MEPhI, discuss the educational program and learn about career prospects after graduation. An exhibition was organized by departments of ICIS and IFES, where students and university graduates presented research projects.
Workshops have been organized for students and parents, where students learned about financial intelligence, how to work in programs that identify and prevent criminal activity, where to invest money and how to open a profitable business.
On February, 26 MEPhI will hold an Open Day at the Faculty of business informatics and complex systems management, and the Institute of International Relations. We invite students, parents, and everyone.
