International information Group "Interfax" has published the outcomes of the seventh annual National universities’ ranking, following the results of 2016.
"MEPhI" has retained its leading position, sharing the second place with Novosibirsk National Research University (on the first place is Lomonosov Moscow State University).
The top ten also included Moscow Physical-Technical Institute, St. Petersburg State University, the National Research University "Higher School of Economics", Bauman Moscow State Technical University, Russian Peoples' Friendship University, National Research Tomsk State University, the National Tomsk Polytechnic University.

Universities’ activity was evaluated by six main criteria: educational activity; research activity; social environment; internationalization; innovation and entrepreneurship; brand.
Simultaneously, "MEPhI" has become the leader of the ranking in the parameter "Innovation and Entrepreneurship". The top three also includes Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology and Bauman Moscow State Technical University.
In addition, our University has entered the top ten of Russian universities in the parameter "Brand", occupying the 7th position.
