On October, 16 contest of I.V.Saveliev, who for many years was the Head of the General Physics Department, the author of a famous physics manual for students of technical universities, translated into many foreign languages, took place in MEPhI. The contest of I.V.Saveliev has been held in MEPhI for many years: at first it was a physical-mathematical contest for schoolchildren, then it gave the possibility for schoolchildren to enroll in MEPhI straightaway.

It is currently a preliminary stage of selection for Industrial physical-mathematical contest of schoolchildren “Rosatom”, that is why the contest winners get a pass for the final stage of “Rosatom” contest.

A lot of schoolchildren came to the contest:

7-th form -  147 participants (in 2015 - 124);

8-th form -  330 participant (291);

9- th form -  425 participants (392);

10- th form - 518 participants (444);

11- th form - 793 participants (767).

All in all, 2213 people came (in 2015 – 2018).

On Sunday, October, 23 I.V.Saveliev contest in physics will be held.
