Institute of engineering physics (transregional public establishment) has become MEPhI industrial partner in realization of scientific project “Quantum technology of information transfer and registers of quantum memory». Conditions of joint partnership were defined during the visit of the Head of the Institute of engineering physics represented by president A.N.Tsarkov and Deputy Head on science S.V.Smurnova in MEPhI.

The guests have been welcomed by MEPhI rector M.N.Strikhanov, the Head of the Institute of nanotechnologies in electronics, spintronics and photonics N.I.Kargin, Department of condensed matter physics Professor A.N.Vasiliev, and Head of Department of military training A.I.Korostelev.

The project “Quantum technology of information transfer and registers of quantum memory» has been submitted for consideration of the expert committee of the contest of scientific projects as a part of realization of the Project on enhancement of universities’ competitiveness (Project 5-100). The administration of the Institute of engineering physics has highlighted the uniqueness, practical value and significance of research in this new direction, which has just started to develop in our country.

During the visit our partners had a chance to estimate MEPhI technological potential on realization of this project. When visiting university’s scientific centres, in particular, Nanocenter and Laser Centre, administration of the Institute of engineering physics made a positive opinion about our competences and material technical base, pointing out at the high level of specialist training and MEPhI potential ability to successfully realise the scientific project.

A framework agreement between two organisations, which includes not only scientific and technological issues, but also questions of personnel training for the Institute of engineering physics, has been prepared, following the results of the meeting. The administration of the Institute also expressed eagerness to cooperate in such scientific directions, as radiophotonics, methods of mathematical modelling, technologies of getting materials, laser technologies.
