Moscow Department of Education has published an annual ranking of 300 city schools, which have shown high educational results in 2015-2016 academic year.

Currently the ranking of the capital educational department is the only official ranking school list in the RF. The evaluation has been conducted on the basis of objective indices that allow estimate concrete institution, give generalized characteristic of the educational system in it, and estimate the dynamics of changes. Such indicators include the results of contests and state exams.

MEPhI Pre-university, that traditionally shows worthy results in this annual ranking, has become 16^th among schools of the capital. It showed good positive dynamics, improving the result of the past year for 5 points (21^st place in 2014-2015 academic year).

According to the results of the contest of best Moscow schools, MEPhI Pre-university has obtained the 1^st degree Grant of Moscow Mayor and has become one of top-20 best schools of the capital.

University Pro-rector Elena Vesna has commented on the reasons of such growth and MEPhI Pre-university difference from other Moscow schools:

- Our first big success was in 2014, when MEPhI Pre-university obtained the 1^st degree Grant of Moscow Mayor. This year we repeated this success. In 2015 we descended from 20^th to 21^st place, because the rules changed, the majority of criteria were for multidisciplinary schools, which educate people from 1^st to 11^th grade. The 21^st place among 300 Moscow schools and the 2^nd degree Grant of Moscow Mayor were a success for us. Then we got high score because of state exam and contest results. This year the ranking is more balanced, and real academic achievements are taken into consideration. The quantity of our lyceum students who got the maximum score has grown more than three times (from 5 in 2015 to 16 in 2016). The number of contest winners has also grown (88 in 2015, 94 in 2016). Lyceum students have shown high results not only in contests on physics and mathematics, but also in humanitarian disciplines.

Today graduates of MEPhI Pre-university get general secondary education of high level, successfully get enrolled and study in our university. According to the results of RAEX, which evaluates schools according to the results of school leavers’ enrollment in the best universities of Russia, MEPhI Pre-university is always among 3 leaders among Russian schools. The lyceum programs are integrated with university programs so as to get credit transfer in some disciplines while applying to the university. The program of contest participants training, schools for gifted students are conducted; system of further specialized education has been created; project work is organized. The lyceum classes and laboratories, the Centre of education technological support are constantly modernized and re-equipped. Our lyceums have currently become modern educational centres, which give education of the highest quality.
