On August, 3 MEPhI admission campaign website published an order for admission for the first year students of Bachelor and Specialist degrees, according to which 80% of state-financed students from the overall contest are occupied by new freshmen of our university. It’s time to draw preliminary results, see, which specialisations are in demand this year, and how the average points of the Unified State Examination has grown among those who apply for state-financed education.

MEPhI admission office claims that nuclear and IT specialisations have the biggest popularity among applicants, in particular “Nuclear physics and technologies”, “Atomic stations: design, exploitation, and engineering”, “Applied mathematics and informatics”, “Information security”.

Directions of training, the enrollment to which is conducted for the first time this year, are of special interest – these are “Laser technics and technologies” and “Electronics and nanoelectronics”.

“Applied mathematics and physics” has also provoked great interest.

The quality of the first stage of enrollment is rather high. Among those who have been enrolled on the first stage there are 90 contest winners, who have been given 100 points at the Unified State Examination. Moreover, more than a half of the enrollees (223 people) have a secondary school certificate with honours.

This year enrollees provide portfolios with personal achievements. Many of them have participated in the final parts of the contests, conducted in MEPhI, some of them have provided golden GTO signs.

On August, 8 the full list of enrolled people, who have represented the original of the documents, will be published on MEPhI official website.
