“Skolkovo” Foundation and MEPhI together with their partners have launched a contest Skolkovo Cybersecurity Challenge, dedicated to the search for best innovative solutions, aimed at the protection of business and individuals from cyberthreats. The participation in the contest will allow the developers of solutions in the sphere of information security get the financing for the realization of the project and recommendations of industry experts.

“The annual growth of the number of aimed attacks, the constant growth of attacks on mobile devices, the appearing of new types of cyberfraud, such as ransomware, require an adequate reaction. We should point out that the period of attack detection has exceeded 200 days last year, which defines the sharp demand on behalf of business for effective solutions of information security provision,” said the Head of the information security direction of the “Skolkovo” Foundation IT cluster Sergey Hodakov. “In connection with it, “Skolkovo” Foundation IT cluster together with MEPhI and its key partners have organized a contest, the aim of which is to support innovative developments and, as the result, provide advanced solutions to all the participants of the cyberspace.”

The special value of the contest is that it will allow its participants “live” together with the suggested idea its whole life cycle, from the realization of the most relevant problems to the product, ready for realization and usage, countering modern IT challenges. The time of “refined” specialists-theoreticians, especially in such important field as information security, has gone to the past. Now, as never before, practitioners, who know how to incorporate a concrete project for the protection of business in cyberspace, are needed.
