For the first time the National Research Nuclear University “MEPhI” has entered the top-50 of the best universities in QS University Rankings: BRICS 2016, showing a positive trend compared to the last year and occupying the 50th place among the 250 universities participating in the ranking.

According to the rector of MEPhI Mikhail Strikhanov, the position of the University could even be higher if methodology of the ranking took into account the scientific work performed in large collaborations at the Mega science installations, where MEPhI takes a direct and active participation.

“Currently the University creates new scientific educational units (strategic academic units) in the framework of the 5-100 Project: Institute of Nuclear Physics and Engineering, Institute for Laser and Plasma Technologies, Institute for Nanoengineering in Electronics, Spintronics and Photonics, Institute of Cyber Intelligent Systems, Institute of Engineering Physics for Biomedicine. They are already conducting campaign to admit talented students and allow hoping for further strengthening of our positions”, said the rector.

Among Russian universities in QS MEPhI has taken the 8th place and the 4th place among Russian universities - participants of the state Project 5-100.
