On the 9th of July for the first time our University has held a University-wide graduation ceremony, organized by the Association of young graduates of MEPhI. In the official, but very cheerful and fun atmosphere 520 graduates received the long-awaited document of higher education. For those guys who have gone through military training under the new training system, there was a special ceremony where together with diplomas they received military cards.

On that day former students and their relatives and friends had a rich program. The guys were welcomed by representatives of the University’s administration, who congratulated heroes of the occasion on the finishing of the leading engineering University in Russia, said words of encouragement and recalled that the alma mater will always be glad to see them again within its walls. Besides the official part the newly minted specialists, bachelors and masters could leave a video message to them in the future, make a memorable magnets in photo zones, trace the timeline of events in MEPhI within 5 years and, of course, launch balloons in the main square of the University.

Smiles, happy faces, laughter... Let’s wish guys to find their path in life, to develop and enhance the talent, to become real experts in their field. And let all the things they learn in the University help them. We hope that the memory of university years will forever remain in the hearts.

Anton Anastasiev, faculty T:

- There were so many interesting cases in student life, so it’s hard to select only one. Sometimes (hopefully it’s not my story) you come to the test, but it was yesterday. And guys had to run after a lecturer. I can advise entrants to grind away at their studies. Shall I prompt where it is best to do this? It is the Department №32.

Igor Abalakin, faculty F:

- The strongest impression was the diploma defence. I was very worried, therefore it was a great relief to know that I received an excellent mark. I advise entrants to take recommendations of lecturers seriously; later you will realize how right they are.

Oksana Kotova, faculty U:

- My most striking case occurred in the dormitory. It was at about 4 am. Everyone was asleep (oddly enough). I was awaken by a loud knock at the door, and in the same moment someone burst into the room and shouted: “Get up! Don't you see what's going on here?!" I didn't understand anything, sat and realized that my legs were ankle-deep in water! We turned on the light and saw amazing scene. Our room, of our neighbours, kitchen and bath were flooded with water. Slippers, shoes, some garbage were swimming around... As it turned out, at night, while all were sleeping, a pipe burst, but no one heard it. Water was flowing for several hours. And just when waterfalls appeared on the walls of downstairs neighbors, they came to us. So, in general it was fun!

Olga Solovieva, faculty T:

- I entered the University because there is a strong fundamental physics, interesting research areas, for example, plasma physics. The most memorable case is the first exam. I was very excited. I would advise applicants to do what they like, to act according to interests and not to the prospects.

Alexey Lisitsyn, faculty F:

- What I remember the most is today's ceremony. It was the first graduation ceremony, and I like it. It's hard to say what else was in the same colorful during my training, but there were a lot of interesting points. For those who enter University I will advise to study, study and study again!

Alexander Lyapin, faculty T:

- There were a lot of interesting things during this time. But the most important is good friends! MEPhI has given a lot of opportunities, for example, to participate in international conferences. I remember one in 2014, I'm glad I could take part in it.

Polina Yashenkova, faculty U:

- Before master’s degree program I studied in the city of Ivanovo. Then I took the risk and came to Moscow and entered MEPhI. The guys turned out to be nice and kind people! The same can be said about the lecturers: open, positive, always willing to help. I advise students not to be afraid of new challenges, but rather go to meet them! Life is interesting, and during student years it’s especially beautiful!

Maria Lizunova, faculty T:

- I remember diploma defence the most of all. Study in the master’s degree program was more difficult than undergraduate one. I was overwhelmed with emotions, I even cried. I would advise everyone to enroll in this University. It is the strongest University! Of course, much depends on the person. My credo is that luck does not put up with indecision. So don't be afraid and enter MEPhI!
