Work on large-scale reconstruction of scientific, educational and innovative activity is being conducted in MEPhI. For this purposes the second stage of Strategic sessions, dedicated to the development of our University, will be held in the second semester of 2016. The first stage of Strategic sessions took place in 2015-2016 (session № 1, session № 2, session № 3, session № 4). Russian expert, Professor of the Skolkovo School of Management A.E. Volkov (chief moderator on the second stage) has been invited to lead the cycle of strategic sessions. The main topics of the event have become the actualization of educational, research and innovative policy of the University, following the results of which concrete strategic solutions have been worked out, aimed at the reorganization of the process of functioning of the university and future development of MEPhI global reputation as the personnel centre for the nuclear industry.
As the result of active and fruitful work of the university, including conducted strategic sessions, the concept of 5 breakthrough fields has been worked out which were highlighted for the university promotion in Russia and abroad (read more).
On July, 4th a lecture before the launch of the second stage of Strategic sessions was held which announced aims and tasks for 2016. The event was opened by MEPhI rector M.N. Strikhanov who reminded that by the solution of 5-100 Project International Council MEPhI has been included in the up-market group of leading universities of the RF. “This is due to a large contribution of sessions that we have held”, he highlighted.
According to the rector’s words, a new additional enrollment of participants who “are ready to think and work on the development of their university” will be held. “We will work out main vectors, principles and models of the University’s transformations,” M.N. Strikhanov pointed out the main tasks. “We need to do all this to start 2017 with the idea of how the modern university structure, the basics of which are its strategic academic units, will be developed”.
The practical importance of the first cycle of lectures has become the reason for the University to continue events, which started in 2015. A.E. Volkov said that after the meeting everyone should make up their mind whether to become the participant of the process or not.
The expert made a report “University. Problems and contexts of development”, in which he analysed the evolution of the development of Russian universities and gave the example of world universities’ success, which managed to develop educational and scientific environment with good parametres and achievements.
The lecture provoked a great interest and multiple questions among the audience.
The second stage of Strategic sessions is planned to be held from September, 2016 till February, 2017. The first elimination round for the participants will be until September, 5. Then 4 sessions will be held, the first of which will be conducted on September, 26-27.
The selection "in praesentia" is planned in the middle of September, 2016.
