Representatives of world nuclear energetics got an opportunity to discuss modern issues which the energetics market faces every day, define directions of the development of nuclear industry as the basics for stable social-economic development of the countries, and get acquainted with the latest developments in this sphere.

At the plenary meeting “The future of the nuclear energetics. New players” the CEO of “Rosatom” State Corporation Sergey Kirienko highlighted huge advantages which nuclear energetics gives from the point of view of energy potential. He noted that “95 % of energy supply on the planet is concentrated in radioactive elements, and all the other sources – gas, carbon, renewable sources – comprise only 2 %, and this is the evidence of the huge potential of nuclear energetics”.

The Head of Rosatom asked the audience not to oppose traditional and renewable sources to each other, but to search for the balance between them. He added that technologies of nuclear energetics developed nowadays allow to make this kind of generation really eco-friendly.

According to the words of Sergey Kirienko, “Rosatom” State Corporation is ready to invest into the building of NPP in the states which are ready to develop peaceful atom. Work with countries which have not used nuclear technologies yet, but want to build nuclear plants, will become a catalyst for high-technology development of Rosatom itself and atomic energetics in general.

“At the moment we are at the stage of signing contracts with Belarus and Tanzania”, - he said, noting that Rosatom’s complex suggestion for countries, which are ready to develop atomic energetics, includes building of low-power nuclear reactors inside the centres of nuclear science and technology.

During the forum the Head of the State Corporation signed intergovernmental agreement about cooperation in the field of usage of atomic energy for peaceful purposes in Zambia. The agreement supposes the construction of objects of nuclear energetics, medicine, agriculture in the country, and the first project will be the building of the centre of nuclear technologies.
