On May, 25th the 7th International scientific-practical conference on physics and technology of nanoheterostructural SHF electronics “Mokerov readings” has been held in MEPhI. It was dedicated to the memory of RAS member-correspondent, MEPhI Professor Mokerov Vladimir, an outstanding scientist who founded the direction of nanoheterostructural SHF electronics in Russia.
The topics of the conference traditionally united works of leading Russian scientists on a series of scientific-technical and technological issues in the sphere of nanoheterostructural electronics, electronics on new materials, quantum electronics and photonics. The participants of the international conference included not only the ones from the Russian Federation (Moscow, St Petersburg, Tomsk, Krasnodar, Rostov on Don, Novosibirsk, Ekaterinburg, Zelenograd, Nizhniy Novgorod), but also foreign colleagues from Belarus, Lithuania, Ukraine and the USA.
Before the conference started its work, MEPhI rector M.N. Strikhanov highlighted the importance of this event, which received high popularity among scientists and arises interest not only from the side of specialists in the field of nanoheterostructural SHF electronics, but of young scientists, students and post-graduate students.
The Head of the Department of development of perspective research N.I. Kargin told about the results of developments, new technological possibilities and prospects of development of MEPhI Institute of nanotechnology in electronics, spintronics and photonics.
Employees of RAS institutes, production organisations, leading research centres took part in the conference. All in all, 75 reports were made in which scientists reflected modern state and ways of development of problems of SHF of solid-state electronics on the basis of nano-sized heterostructures and other new functional materials.
A lot of young people were at the “Mokerov readings” conference. For students and post-graduates such conferences is a possibility to get first hand information about new achievements in science and research activity of different institutions.
