Leader! and Point!: MEPhI on its way of creation of personnel reserve

MEPhI employees have taken part in a setting session about new programmes of a working group “Personnel reserve” – “Leader” and “Growth point” which start as a part of realization of Competitiveness improving program.

The program was opened by the Head of the Direction of the Competitiveness improving program M.G.Ganchenkova who has told in short about the Development Program 5-100, conducted since 2013, highlighting achieved results and examples of successful practices and projects realized by university employees. Success in the sphere of international openness and in global academic reputation was mentioned including the 36th place in THE World University Rankings 2015-2016 by subject: physical sciences. “This is a very high position, and we should hold it”, - noted Maria Ganchenkova.

Moreover, our university is diversifying scientific and educational activity aiming at technical directions of studying and making a transfer from the position of a nuclear university to the status of a science and technology university. The directions are the following: nuclear physics and technologies, engineering physics in biomedicine, laser and plasma technologies, nanotechnologies in electronics and intellectual cybernetic systems.

There are improvements in the personnel sphere: 14 % of foreign scientists had been working in MEPhI by the end of 2015 which is a good factor. There is a success in the student sector as well with practically 12 % of foreign students. We should mention that in both spheres there is a balance between representatives of CIS and non-CIS countries.

The Deputy Head of Human Resources O.V. Goryunova told the audience about the concept of new programmes starting in MEPhI – “Leader” and “Growth point”.

The “Growth point” program is aimed at detection of employees with a high potential for realization of existing projects in the university and forming of effective teams for the university development in different directions (science, education, management). The “Leader” program is for trained specialists with relevant competences, experience and results of their activity whose candidacies are offered by the heads of the departments with the aim of their further professional development and career progress.

Olga Goryunova has described in short main requirements for the participants, criteria and the principles of candidate selection, and the project plan of the development program of personnel reserve for 2016-2017.

The Head of the Centre of Evaluation of Rosatom Corporate academy Nataliya Prakht gave more information about the programs, her presentation was mostly dedicated to the stages and criteria of evaluation procedure for the personnel reserve.

After that the participants of the session could ask the Direction on Personnel management and Rosatom Corporate academy their questions and register for the “Point of growth” program.
