MEPhI has been again granted the right to hold the final stage of the All-Russian student contest – a prestigious and important educational event, attracting the best students of the country – on its ground.
In accordance with the tender distribution of the Ministry of Education and Science of the RF in 2016 4 contests out of the list are traditionally held in our university. From April, 24th to 25th MEPhI hosted students of Russian universities to participate in contests in “automatics, electronics and nanostructured electronics”, and “information security”.
It should be mentioned that the number of universities which have sent their delegates for the contest has grown compared with the previous year – this year nearly 300 students from 49 universities of the country have come. The largest universities of Russia have sent their representatives: Far Eastern Federal University, Moscow Aviation Institute, Bauman Moscow State Technical University, Kazan Federal University, Voronezh Institute of the Ministry of the Interior of Russia, North-Caucasus Federal University, Perm National Research Polytechnic University, Ural State Technical University and others.
Foreign students representing universities of Belarus, Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan have taken part in the contest. Some universities have sent teams of 3 or more participants, the contest organisation committee has decided to award them certificates for active participation.
Representatives of MEPhI administration in their welcoming speeches have mentioned high level of knowledge demonstrated by students.
Elena Vesna said that participation in such an important and prestigious educational contest will give new knowledge to everyone, and the winners will get the chance to choose educational programs for Master’s degree in any leading university of the country including MEPhI.
The Deputy Director General of JSC Roselectronics of Rostechnologies Arseniy Brykin has claimed that potential employers are now ready to make interesting job offers for the winners.
Alexander Maslennikov speaking on behalf of the organization committee of the contest said that the university offers 80 programs for Master’s degree, and winners and laureates of the contest get extra points while applying.

Winner – Alexander Gerasimov, MEPhI;
2nd degree awardee – Litvinenko Arkadiy, Bauman MSTU;
3rd degree awardee – Shmelev Yaroslav, NRU MIET.
