On February 11-12, 2016 Yekaterinburg has hosted the XV seminar-conference for representatives of all universities – participants of the Project 5-100 to increase competitiveness of leading Russian universities. They discussed best practices in the field of internationalization, educational, scientific, innovative and publication activity, methodology of international rankings, etc. Particularly important event was the speech of the Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Russian Federation A.B. Povalko and the Director of the Project office 5-100 M.V. Antonov. In particular, M.V. Antonov presented results of performance indicators* achieved by the universities during the implementation of road maps for 2015. According to it MEPhI was ranked the first.

The generated rating is a sum of the score on 8 parameters. Scores were given on the analogy with the methods specified in the decree of the Government of the Russian Federation № 211 “On measures of state support for leading universities of the Russian Federation in order to improve their competitiveness among leading research and educational centers”. Three universities with the highest values of performance indicator have received 5 points, the following five universities – 3 points, and others – 1 point.
