On February, 10 a strong delegation of the University of Turin (Italy) of Physics Chair Dean Massaglia and Professor Fre has visited MEPhI. During the workshop with the Head of the University and scientific units representatives Italian colleagues have discussed the results of collaboration and opportunities of the enhanced cooperation between two universities.

MEPhI (NEVOD Centre) and The University of Turin (Department of General Physics “Amedeo Avogadro”) have been cooperating in the sphere of cosmic rays since 1992. In particular, a unique experimental complex “NEVOD -DECOR” was created in MEPhI for joint scientific research where a series of important scientific results has been achieved.

In March, 2014 a Memorandum of intent has been signed which reflects maintenance of cooperation under existing agreements and the expansion of interaction in scientific and educational sphere. In particular, the two sides have discussed students and teachers exchange programs for giving lectures, doing research projects, studying and internships of students, post-graduate students and professors in the University of Turin and MEPhI.

On February, 10 the University of Turin and MEPhI have signed a cooperation agreement whose aim is the creation of Russian-Italian program for post-graduate students in theoretical physics and astro & cosmophysics.

After the course of studies students will be able to get a PhD based on the research supervised by representatives of both countries. The program will help young scientists gain experience in new academic and social conditions.

Internationalization of educational process is one of the most important tendencies in modern education. It helps Russian universities integrate into international educational sphere and raise their competitiveness among scientific and research centres.
