On June 19, a cooperation agreement was signed between the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI and the Autonomous Non–Profit Organization University of Entrepreneurs.

The University of Entrepreneurs is a joint project of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI) and the Department of Entrepreneurship and Innovative Development of the City of Moscow. It is planned that starting from September 1, 2025, the University program will begin to train entrepreneurs who want to develop and market their unique products. A key element of the project will be the workshops of well-known Russian businessmen, where they will use scientific developments and the infrastructure of partner universities to work with students to create new business projects. 350 students from the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI, MIPT, Skoltech, HSE, MISIS and other universities will participate in the project.

The purpose of the cooperation between the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI and the University of Entrepreneurs is to pool resources in order to jointly develop and bring to the domestic market high–tech competitive innovative projects implemented in the workshop format, where student teams will develop basic and applied entrepreneurial competencies that contribute to the growth of technological sovereignty of the country and strengthen cooperation between science and business.

What the university will receive:

• income from the commercialization of scientific developments;
• additional orders for the development of R&D;
• increasing the attractiveness and prestige of the university;
• increasing student loyalty and satisfaction.

What students will get:

• experience working with a successful entrepreneur;
• additional knowledge;
• the opportunity to work in a project, get an option.

"In terms of the development of technological entrepreneurship, our university has come a long way over the past two years. We have launched an accelerator of technological projects jointly with the State Corporation Rosatom. We also started implementing the project "Economic thinking of an engineer". But this whole story is about working with projects and initiatives coming from below. Interaction with the University of Entrepreneurs is a top–down story, when real entrepreneurs with experience and understanding of market realities come to students and actually share their practices with them as mentors. The format of the entrepreneur workshops that will be launched as part of the project is typical for theater universities or, for example, for MBA programs. We hope that this format will allow us to complement the ecosystem of technological entrepreneurship at the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI with new content, and practical results will not be long in coming," said Vladimir Shevchenko, Rector of the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI.
