27.08.2019

Admission campaign in MEPhI for bachelor/specialist programme has ended with a record average score of the exam– 95,4 (in 2018 – 92,3). For the first time, the average score of the exam in all areas of training and specialties exceeded 90 points. Moreover, this year the competition was more than 25 applications per one budget place.

Among the most popular areas of training and specialties, along with IT areas, are: "Nuclear physics and technology", "Nuclear power plants: design, operation and engineering", "Mechatronics and robotics", "Laser technology and laser engineering", "Biotechnical systems and technologies". 45% of those enrolled in 2019 have a certificate with honors, 46% are winners of the Olympiads, seven of them are prize-winners and winners of the all-Russian Olympiad of schoolchildren.

More than 50% of Muscovites enrolled in the University are graduates of the Pre-University of MEPhI. This is no accident: this year's graduates showed outstanding results at the exams: 11 students got 100 points in Math, four - 100 points in Physics, and four - 100 points in Russian language. Alexandra Shcherbakova, being now a MEPhI freshman, received 100 points in two subjects - Mathematics and Russian language. Thus, the average exam score of the Pre-University graduates exceeded the passing MEPhI admission score.

More than 90% of admitted students went through the system of Pre-University training: Olympiads, summer and winter schools, correspondence courses at the Network school of MEPhI, projects of subject-oriented Pre-University training and vocational guidance organized by MEPhI in collaboration with the Moscow Department of education (engineering and academic classes, University’s Saturdays, and others). A significant portion of MEPhI’s freshmen participated in the projects of Rosatom's Corporate Academy ("School of Rosatom", "Atom classes", session for gifted children in ARCC "Orlyonok") and Educational center "Sirius" (lectures, workshops, research sessions).

Congratulations to the lecturers and staff of the University, who participated in the work with schoolchildren, with a brilliant results and a new generation of talented students!
