Every year on February 8, Russian Science Day is celebrated in our country. In honor of this holiday, celebrations were held at the National Research Nuclear University "MEPhI" from 5 to 7 February. Within the framework of the project "Engineering class at the Moscow School" and "IT class at the Moscow school", more than 1,500 schoolchildren of the capital attended practical classes and master classes in the university laboratories.
The event called "Dedication to Future Professionals" has become a key event for 10th grade students who are already taking their first steps in the world of science and technology. The students were able to get acquainted with cutting-edge research and development, as well as realize how their knowledge and skills can be applied in real scientific and professional activities.
As part of the program, high school students attended master classes in various fields, including "Development of electronic components in modern computer-aided design systems", "Modeling and visualization of engineering and physical tasks in Python", "Artificial intelligence in pattern recognition and its application in medicine", "Jewelry technological welding under a microscope", "Atomic technologies in virtual reality".
More than 50 Moscow schools took part in the event, and each one was able to choose the most interesting areas for themselves and attend appropriate master classes.
For example, the students of school No. 507 worked on the development of a transceiver electronic component base, and the guys from school No. 904 studied jewelry technological welding under a microscope. The guests of MEPhI from school No. 1329 immersed themselves in the world of artificial intelligence and its legal aspects, and the participants of the event from school No. 1561 explored nuclear technologies in virtual reality. 888th Russian Science Day is not only a holiday for scientists, but also an opportunity for the younger generation to touch the world of science and technology. MEPhI is proud to have been able to contribute to the development of scientific thinking among schoolchildren and helped them take the first steps towards their future profession.
We thank all the participants and organizers of the event and hope that such events will become a tradition inspiring young people to make new discoveries and achievements in science and technology!
