The second International winter school "Obninsk Tech" began its work

From February 2 to February 8, 2025 in Obninsk on the basis of the Obninsk Institute of Atomic Energy of the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI and the Yakhonty-Tarusa park hotel the II International Winter School Obninsk Tech Winter School will take place.

The event is being implemented as part of the project to create the Obninsk Tech International Scientific and Educational Center with the participation of the State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom. 128 international students from 39 countries who study at 18 universities will take part in the winter school.

At the opening of the school, Vladimir Shevchenko, Rector of the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI, Valery Panov, Head of the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI, Tatyana Osipova, Deputy Director for Strategic Development of the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI, and Tatyana Leonova, Deputy Governor of the Kaluga Region.

The school will host interactive lectures, practical exercises and master classes in various areas of energy and non-energy applications of nuclear technologies in cooperation with leading organizations of the Rosatom State Corporation and enterprises of the Kaluga Region. Technical tours will be conducted at the SSC RF FEI, SSC NIFHI named after. Karpova, MRSC named after Tsyba, Prologue LLC, to the Rosatom Technical Academy.

The school's program provides for project work, during which nuclear-related tasks will have to be solved. The participants of the winter school will complete a program of additional education on the topic "Knowledge and technology management in the nuclear industry" and receive certificates of advanced training of the established standard. There is also a cultural program and an introduction to Russian traditions. In the year of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, a trip to the branch of the Victory Museum, the Museum of G.K., will be organized for the participants of the winter school. Zhukov, as well as a visit to the world's first nuclear power plant with an excursion dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the nuclear industry.
