On May 30, 2024, the international university ranking RUR World University Rankings 2024 was published. MEPhI took 2nd place among Russian universities and 107th place in the world.

The Round University Ranking (RUR) rating agency conducted a study of universities, which resulted in a rating of 1,169 universities from 89 countries, including 131 universities in Russia. In the RUR ranking, universities are evaluated according to 20 indicators characterizing the main areas of university activity – education (40%), scientific research (40%), international activities (10%), financial stability (10%). Harvard University took the first place in this ranking. 

MEPhI has improved its position in the world compared to last year (112th place), primarily due to educational activities. The TOP 5 Russian universities, in addition to MEPhI, also included Lomonosov Moscow State University, MIPT, TSU, Bauman Moscow State Technical University. Below are the TOP 10 Russian universities in the overall RUR World University Rankings 2024:
