The seminar was organized by the Main Scientific and Methodological Data Center of the State Service for Standard Reference Data in the field of atomic energy use and the Institute for Nuclear Physics and Engineering (INPhE) of the MEPhI.

Opening the event, Main Scientific and Methodological Data Center employee Sergei Badikov introduced the audience to the history of creation, tasks and main results of the work of the Russian-Chinese Nuclear Data Group. He noted the successful work of Chinese colleagues in the field of measuring neutron standards. In particular, 10 of the 21 published experiments in recent years were carried out in China.

Professor Huang Xiaolong then presented a report on the activities of the China Atomic Energy Institute in the field of nuclear data.

“The goal of our work is to develop evaluated nuclear data for use in the field of peaceful atom, including to ensure the safe operation of nuclear power plants, scientific research, nuclear medicine, education, etc. Our researchers are developing methods for assessing, verifying and validating assessed nuclear data,” he said.

China has a network of thematic nuclear data centers, most of which are located in universities. The work of the thematic centers is coordinated by the China Nuclear Data Center (China Atomic Energy Institute).

Huang Xiaolong spoke in detail about the structure of the Chinese General Purpose Nuclear Data Library CENDL 3.2, its verification and use. He also presented information on special-purpose libraries for use in kerma and activation calculations. At the end of his report, Huang Xiaolong reported on the status of Chinese fourth-generation reactor projects.

Alexander Ryzhkov, a graduate student at the INPhE of the MEPhI, gave a report on the modern capabilities of processing programs when working with covariances of nuclear data.

The seminar ended with answers to questions and scientific discussion.
