Wildberries and MEPhI Join Efforts to Automate Warehouse Processes

Wildberries, one of the leading players in the Russian e-commerce market, announces the start of cooperation with MEPhI. As part of cooperation on the basis of the MEPHIUS Full Cycle Microelectronics Design Center, the parties will join forces to create a scientific and applied laboratory, the purpose of which will be to automate and improve warehouse processes.

The following specialists will be in demand in the laboratory: front-end and back-end developers, Flutter experts, as well as specialists in BI development and database management.

“The opening of an application laboratory on the basis of MEPhI is not only a step into the future for Wildberries, but also a guarantee of the formation of a new generation of IT specialists ready to solve current e-commerce problems,” Wildberries said in a statement.

As Vladislav Samoilov, deputy director of the MEPHIUS Design Center, noted, “Collaboration with Russia’s largest online retailer will allow us to transfer to the university the competencies from leading Wildberries specialists in the field of automation systems, launch a number of applied works and educational courses based on the applied laboratory, and conduct specialized events for students (hackathons, conferences, lectures) and their internship in the company.”

According to the head of the Institute of Cyber Intelligence Systems (ICIS) of the MEPhI, Valentin Klimov, “ICIS is currently modernizing its infrastructure and actively developing partnerships with leading Russian companies. We are very pleased to launch a strategic relationship with Wildberries within the MEPHIUS Design Center and are interested in introducing new training programs in the field of automation technologies and joint development of high-load IT systems into the educational process of ICIS. Cooperation with Wildberries will open up new opportunities for the further development of ICIS.”

In the near future, the MEPHIUS Design Center plans to renovate and brand the premises, as well as equip the Wildberries laboratory with modern equipment necessary for productive and efficient work.
