On August 15, during the International Scientific and Technical Forum "Army-2023", MEPhI and the Moscow Technical University of Communications and Informatics (MTUCI) signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of quantum communications. MEPhI rector Vladimir Shevchenko and MTUCI rector Sergey Erokhin took part in the signing of the agreement.

The main goal of cooperation is to fulfill the tasks facing educational organizations in the field of development and implementation of quantum communication technologies in education, science and industry of the country.

MEPhI and MTUCI plan to disseminate the experience of research centers in the field of satellite technologies in the scientific and educational environment, jointly promote the speedy application of innovations in the scientific, educational and industrial environment, form a system for the exchange of experience and dissemination of the latest achievements in the field of satellite technologies and conduct educational events for students - seminars, lectures, master classes, conferences and much more.

In addition, the parties agreed to coordinate interaction for the development and implementation of satellite technologies in high-tech sectors of the economy, as well as to promote the development of research and scientific and technical centers focused on the introduction of satellite communications technologies in the field of information and communication technologies.

“For us, this agreement is a key milestone. We, as a leading industry university, in collaboration with a leading fundamental university, will find new points of contact, and the era of quantum communications in Russia will reach a new level. I am sure that by joint efforts we will be able to give our students the necessary, valuable experience for building their future careers,” commented Sergey Erokhin, Rector of MTUCI.

“The main thing that unites us is the interest in advanced information processing technologies, which, of course, will be associated with the use of the quantum properties of matter. We always follow the activities of our partners with great interest. I hope that this agreement will mark the beginning of a fruitful period of our interaction, when we will be able to extend the best competencies and practices that our students receive to each other,” said Vladimir Shevchenko, Rector of MEPhI.
