This year's admissions campaign at MEPhI is coming to an end, and we are going to present its first results. Further, there will be a serious study of trends and features, but for now we can say that the popularity of the university continues to grow.
In 2023, more than 40,000 applications were submitted to MEPhI for the budgetary form of education for bachelor and specialist training programs, which is 71% more than last year. Moreover, more than 300 applicants applied in the category "without entrance examinations" – these are the winners and prize-winners of the Olympiads.
More than 6,000 people expressed their desire to study at the Moscow site of the university – in total, they submitted more than 29,000 applications for various areas.
The average passing score at our university remains consistently high. The average for MEPhI last year was 92.1. The highest score in 2022 was to be presented by applicants from Institute of Cyber Intelligence Systems (ICIS) of the MEPhI – 98.5 (which is almost two points more than in 2021). What will be the exact values of this year - we will find out very soon.
The admission targets for our university in 2023 increased slightly, by 2% compared to the previous year (today it is 1088 students), since last year they were already increased by almost 30%.
The most demanded specialties this year are Applied Mathematics and Informatics, Applied Mathematics and Physics, Nuclear Power Plants, Nuclear Reactors and Materials.
