On July 18, the first graduation of bachelors took place at the Tashkent branch of MEPhI. 62 graduates received diplomas.

Shavkat Abdukamilov, executive director of the branch, addressed the graduates with a congratulatory speech: “Our students demonstrated a high level of knowledge gained during their studies, and some of them received recommendations for entering a master's program and publishing articles on the topics of their graduations. Our colleagues from the head university MEPhI and representatives of the Uzatom Agency noted the quality of training of graduates of the Tashkent branch of MEPhI. In the near future, our graduates will be employed in various organizations in the energy sector of the Republic of Uzbekistan and will contribute to the development of the nuclear industry and ensure the energy security of the country.”
Since the opening of the Tashkent branch of MEPhI, Rosatom State Corporation has provided special support and attention to the process of personnel training. On graduation day, Tatyana Terentyeva, Deputy General Director for Personnel of Rosatom, addressed the students: “Your names will go down in history because you are the first graduates of the first international branch of MEPhI, one of the leaders in nuclear education in the world. I am sure that in four years you have taken the maximum from training, gained fundamental knowledge. This will allow you to start implementing scientific, technological and production tasks in the interests of the Republic of Uzbekistan as soon as possible, as well as become successful in your chosen profession. Nuclear energy is the most important element of the global energy system, a source of clean "green energy", the basis for creating a sustainable economy. Working in this area, you will always be in demand specialists. I am sure that you are using all your potential for the benefit of your country and our joint projects.”
Students defended their theses on July 5-7, state exams were held in a hybrid format. The examination committee included representatives of the head university in Moscow and the Volgodonsk Engineering and Technical Institute, a branch of the MEPh, who connected via video link, as well as the Uzatom Agency.
After receiving diplomas, graduates of the Tashkent branch of MEPhI will be employed, some of them will continue their studies in the master's program. According to the management of the Uzatom Agency, graduates will be assigned to work in organizations of the Ministry of Energy, the Uzatom Agency and the State Unitary Enterprise Directorate for the Construction of Nuclear Power Plants under the Uzatom Agency.

The Tashkent branch of MEPhI was established on December 28, 2018 and became the first foreign branch of MEPhI. The main goal of creating a branch in Tashkent is to train highly qualified engineering and technical personnel for the development of the nuclear industry in Uzbekistan.
To date, 275 students are studying at the Tashkent branch of MEPhI in four areas: "Nuclear Energy and Thermal Physics", "Nuclear Physics and Technologies", "Power Engineering and Electrical Engineering", "Heat Engineering and Thermal Engineering". Some of them are winners of international and republican physics Olympiads, scholarship holders of the Islam Karimov State Scholarship and the Presidential Scholarship, scholarships of the Minister of Energy and the Agency for the Development of Atomic Energy. While studying at the Tashkent branch of MEPhI, some of the graduates managed to take part in various international forums and conferences that were held abroad.
